Easter in South Dakota this year is looking much different than usual. We don’t usually get to be outside too much for Easter since it’s usually still pretty chilly and always really wet but this year we have 4-5 feet of snow still piled up! Mother nature isn’t getting the memo that it is springtime! 😥
With that being said, everyone here is getting very restless for nice weather and finally being able to spend time outdoors (especially those with young children who have been cooped up since November)!
For Lucas’ Easter basket this year, I decided to go more non-traditional and get him some fun things to use outside this year. I think I’m desperately hoping we can use all these items soon and kids always gets tons of sweet treats around Easter, so I wanted to get him other items.
Here are the items I found from various stores & shopping trips:
- Kid camping chair
- Sand or dirt toys
- Bubbles
- Books
- Kid gardening tools & bag
- Chalk
- Pop-Pop Poppers
- Sunglasses
- Toy dinosaurs
- Wind up Easter chick
- Chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies (one of my favorites!)
He is going to light up when he sees this on Easter morning! He will have all these toys to play with once it warms up and all this dang snow finally melts. We do love our Midwest living but this has felt like the longest winter ever!
As always, thanks so much for reading my post. I hope it gave you some good ideas for your kiddo’s Easter basket. Happy Easter! 🐰🐣
