First off, I love holidays! I can be a little “extra” as my husband would say but I don’t mind! I love planning activities for my kiddo and my nieces and nephews. This year I had so much fun making these quick and easy apple sauce Valentine’s Day treats for Lucas to share with his friends.
Now, this is Lucas’ second Valentine’s Day. He was about 5 months old for his first one and boy did I drop the ball at daycare! Lucas goes to daycare at a center in a nursing home. We absolutely love the daycare providers, and they take such good care of him!
Well, last Valentine’s Day, daycare sent out a letter with how many kids and teachers were in each room for giving Valentines. In my mind, no one is giving my 5-month-old any treats because he has no idea what is going on, so I didn’t need to bring treats for any of the other kids.
Oh, was I wrong…. he was the only baby who didn’t bring any Valentine treats. Major mom fail on my first year!
So, this year I got on the ball and decided to make some super easy apple sauce Valentine’s Day treat using an apple sauce pouch.
How to make the apple sauce Valentine’s Day treat
Lucas devours these apple sauce pouches, and I thought it would be a good non-candy treat for the kids ranging from the 6 month old to the preschool age kids. I made this cute little tag that says, “Hugs and Squeezes-Happy Valentine’s Day”. I have a free printable you can download below. The only thing you will have to add is your child’s name, if you’d like to.
These were very easy to make. You’ll just need to print and cut them out. Then I used double sided tape to attach them to the apple sauce pouch, but you could also use glue.
Now he will have cute little treats to share with his friends this year and mom gets to redeem herself!
Thanks for taking the time to read this post and I hope it helps you provide your child with a fun and easy apple sauce Valentine’s Day treats for their friends!
